Getting Started with Iruka
Iruka is a native macOS app that brings together a powerful terminal emulator, SSH/SCP manager, built-in file manager, and Git integration — all in a clean, fast interface built for developers.
What You Can Do
- Terminal — Full xterm-compatible terminal with a session per tab and theme customisation
- SSH & SCP — Save and connect to remote servers; browse and transfer files over SCP
- File Manager — Dual-pane file browser with preview, drag-and-drop, and quick-look support
- Git Integration — See branch status and file changes, stage, and commit right inside the app
- Search — Find files by name or content, locally or in mounted remote folders
System Requirements
- macOS 13 Ventura or later
- Apple Silicon or Intel Mac
Quick Setup
- Download Iruka and drag it to your Applications folder — or install via Homebrew with
brew install --cask dorienh/iruka/iruka(see Installation) - Open Iruka and grant the permissions it requests (Terminal, Files, Network)
- Activate your license if you have purchased a license key
- (Optional) Connect your first SSH server from the SSH tab
That's it — no configuration files or package managers required.
